On a bright September day over 160 guests attended the Official Opening of Cherry Wing at High Leigh. We were honoured to have the support of Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali who praised God for the ministry of The Christian Conference Trust before he led the prayers of dedication and cut the ribbon.
Cherry Wing provides an additional 42 hotel quality en-suite bedrooms which increases the number of en-suite
rooms at High Leigh from 86 to 128 rooms. This now means that at both The Hayes and High Leigh we are able to offer predominantly en-suite accommodation in a variety of single, double, twin and family rooms. This development, along with the new Reception, extended Yew Tree Hall and refurbished Barclay Hall, now means that High Leigh can comfortably accommodate up to 220 delegates.
During the service the guests were also treated to a spot of fun and gospel magic from Steve Price of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians UK. The Chairman of CCT, Peter Dowsett, also announced two new initiatives, the CCT Bursary Fund and CCT Membership Delights.
The CCT Bursary Fund exists to assist delegates who otherwise could not afford to attend a conference at one of our Centres. Applications are welcome from any Christian organisations that use either The Hayes or High Leigh Conference Centre. Claims can only be made every two years and applications must have matched funding from your own Bursary Fund. Applications Forms can be downloaded from www.cct.org.uk/bursary.
CCT Membership Delights is a new scheme in which all our current membership organisations will receive a booklet of 5 vouchers in November with the ability to redeem one voucher against each conference they bring in 2009. Any new membership organisations will receive a booklet with their membership certificate and number. So if your organisation is not already a member of CCT and you are a Christian organisation that has used either The Hayes or High Leigh within the past three years then apply for membership today!
