How outdoor activities can help make a conference a success

September 2015

How outdoor activities can help make a conference a success

Though a lot of the talking, debating and knowledge sharing that takes place at a conference or meeting happens inside, a lot of the socialising, relaxation and fun happens outside!

As all of CCT’s beautiful venues boast large, expansive gardens and a great choice of outdoor equipment, they’re perfect for organisations that want to make their event an all-round success.

Team building

On sunny days – or rainy days if you really want to give your delegates a challenge – there’s nowhere better for a bit of team building than the great outdoors.

Event organisers can use the space available at CCT venues to arrange a number of games and activities to test their delegates and encourage them to work together. From problem solving games to tough physical trials, there is plenty of space to create fun and challenging activities for everyone to enjoy.

Fun

During breaks in meetings, delegates can use the outside space available at their CCT venue for a bit of friendly rivalry.

Exciting games like giant Connect 4 are available at most sites, providing hours of entertainment for people attending a conference as well as any children travelling with them.

Different games are available at different venues, however there will always be a good choice of interesting and fun activities on offer.

Relaxation

After a long day of presentations, learning and collaborating, it’s important for delegates to have a few hours of rest and relaxation in order to process all the new information they’ve heard during the day.

The extensive grounds at CCT venues are perfect for peaceful prayer and meditation, evening strolls and lunchtime escapes, allowing delegates to relax, get a bit of fresh air and get ready for the next stage of the event.

The Hayes also has a prayer labyrinth in the grounds, ideal for delegates that want to dedicate a little bit of time to their personal spirituality, and Belsey Bridge has a swimming pool if you fancy a dip in the warmer months.

Giving your delegates the time and the space they need to be by themselves and to think about everything they’ve learned, or to prepare for a speech or presentation of their own, is invaluable and can really help to create a productive and positive atmosphere at your conference.

Whether you’re planning a series of energetic challenges, a few team building events or you just want to give your delegates a bit of a boost, the beautiful grounds of CCT’s venues make the perfect place. Give us a call or send us an email today to start planning an event of your own.
