High Leigh - Organiser Checklist
Photocopying
There is a photocopier available for conference staff and delegates to use. Please notify the Duty Manager of the number of copies you have made so this can be added to your invoice.
Telephones
There is a public payphone in the main house (cash only).
Fax Bureau
The office fax machine (01992 446594) is available to send and receive documents for conference delegates for which we make a modest charge per page.
Internet Access
Free-to-use wireless internet is available across the entire Centre.
Post
Incoming mail is delivered daily to the Centre, and any mail for conference delegates is retained in the office for collection. There is a red post box for outgoing mail in the main entrance hall. The Royal Mail postal collection is at approximately 5.30pm weekdays and at 11am on Saturdays. There is no collection on Sunday. Books of first class stamps for UK mail are available from the Shop during tea/coffee breaks.
Audio-Visual Facilities
Overhead projectors, screens, flipchart/whiteboard stands and pens are available in all of the conference rooms. Televisions are also available on request. Flip Chart paper is available to purchase; one unit being 10 pages. Radio microphones, VHS players, DVD players and Video/Data Projectors are available in certain rooms at no extra charge. Please let us know of your requirements on the Final Details Form to be returned to us 10 days prior to your conference.
Bar
A well stocked bar is available between 9.15 -10.45pm. If you require the bar open at other times or wish to have a wine reception please discuss this with the Management team at High Leigh prior to your arrival. We are a licensed premises and it is therefore not permitted to bring alcohol into any part of High Leigh. Non-compliance will result in the charging of corkage either to the individuals concerned or by being added to the final invoice.
Shop
A shop (Located just off the main reception) is stocked with a range of Christian gifts, confectionery, ice creams, cold drinks, toiletries, stationary and stamps. It is usually open during tea/coffee breaks.
Sports and Leisure Facilities
We have an outdoor sports field suitable for football, rounder’s, tennis, volleyball, and croquet. Sports equipment is available from the main reception. We also have an indoors games room with table tennis, air hockey and table football. Any damage to the games equipment will be charged to the individual or to the conference.
Communion Requisites
The Centre can supply bread, alcoholic and non-alcoholic wine for communion for a small charge. Chalices and individual glasses are also available free of charge. Please indicate on your final details form your requirements.
Security
Please note that valuables not be left in bedrooms. Please note that any equipment brought onto the premises including musical instruments, computers and office equipment is the responsibility of the owner, and is not covered by High Leigh Conference Centre’s insurance. If you require insurance on these items, then you must ensure that this is obtained from your insurers before the start of the conference. External doors are locked at approx. 10.30pm each evening. The entrances to all the bedroom blocks give 24-hour access to the building via a key code entry system. A four-digit code will be given to you on arrival at High Leigh.
Pets
Strictly no pets - on the premises or left in parked cars - with the exception of guide or hearing dogs.
Menus
Our menus offer a good variety of nutritious and filling foods. Much of what we serve is home cooked using fresh produce as much as possible. Special diets can be catered for if requested in advance. Those on special diets will have been given a coloured diet card when they register. It is important to bring this card to all meals and to show this to your waitress at each mealtime who will then make sure your requirement is catered for.
Meals and Refreshments
The normal times for meals and refreshment breaks are as follows: -
Breakfast - 8.15 – 9.00am
Coffee - 10.30am / 10.45am / 11.00am
Buffet Lunch (Roast on Sundays) - 1.00 pm
Afternoon Tea - 3.30pm / 3.45pm / 4.00pm
Dinner - 6.30pm (7.00 pm on Friday)
Evening Refreshments - 9.00pm / 9.15pm or Bar 9.15-10.45pm
When planning your programme it is best to allow an hour from the start of a meal until the start of your next session. For groups commencing their conference with evening meal please note that hot meals cannot be served beyond 7.30pm. If you know that your group cannot be here in time for your first evening meal sandwiches can be provided if we are notified in advance (24 hours prior to your arrival).
No Smoking Policy
High Leigh operates a ‘No Smoking’ policy throughout the centre. Failure to comply with this could set the fire alarm off, which would lead to an evacuation of the building and the fire services being called.
Late Night/Early Morning Meetings
If would be appreciated if you could conclude all sessions by 11.30pm and not start before 7.30am as this may disturb other guests. Please be aware that you may not be the only group using the centre and so noise should be kept to a minimum outside of these hours.
Welcome from the Management Team
There will Duty Manager available at the Centre during your stay. The Duty Manager will be available to help you as the organiser with any problems which may arise during your stay with us, they will also inform you of arrangements for your group during your stay. A Manager will also be on call out of hours should you have an emergency.
