For many years, Christian Conference Trust has been able to bless hundreds of individuals and families who may otherwise have been unable to join their church on retreat through our bursary scheme. In the last decade alone, more than £400,000 has been distributed in bursary funding – something we are truly thankful to God for, knowing how much it has helped valued brothers and sisters be part of their church family retreat. We know many churches already provide their own financial support too for those in their fellowship who might otherwise struggle to come.
Like every charity, we want to use finite resources as wisely as possible as we fulfil our charitable objects. As needs have changed and costs have risen, we have looked carefully at how we can serve the widest number of guests whilst keeping retreats as affordable as possible.
Therefore, after a thorough review, our board of trustees has made the decision to discontinue the bursary scheme. This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, but one we believe is necessary in order to steward our resources wisely for the years ahead, where every investment we make benefits all our guests. We want to focus our investment on maintaining and improving our venues, ensuring they continue to be a blessing to all the many churches and Christian organisations who use them.
Whilst we will no longer be considering any future bursary applications, please be assured that any bursary funding already approved will be honoured.
We appreciate that this decision may affect some individuals, but our heart remains the same; to provide excellent, affordable Christian venues where God’s people can gather, grow, and be refreshed together.
Thank you for your continued partnership and prayers.
