Friends in Mission bursary

We believe all groups and organisations, irrespective of size or budget, should be able to make the most of the fantastic facilities on offer at CCT venues.

That is why we have set up the Friends in Mission grant scheme.

This bursary scheme has been established to help fund visits for Christian charities, communities, volunteer and church groups who, for financial reasons, would otherwise be unable to make use of our conference centres.

Designed to help these small organisations enjoy respite, spiritual refreshment, training days, meetings and team building, the Friends in Mission scheme is already helping a number of groups and individuals to reap the rewards of a stay at CCT.

Inclusive faith group City Saints in Action successfully applied for a Friends in Mission bursary and enjoyed a three-day retreat at Belsey Bridge, thanking their volunteers for all their hard work and holding an annual planning meeting.

Group leader Carrie Sant said: “We had a wonderful break at Belsey. Having an offsite meeting point for our team was invaluable. The fresh air, countryside, food and accommodation was a real treat.”

The Friends in Mission grant will provide up to 10 members of your organisation with three subsidised nights at a CCT venue. You will only need to pay £10 per person, per night for your members to attend. This includes all food and accommodation and makes holding an event a lot more affordable.

Who can apply?

In order to ensure our bursaries are used where they’re needed most, we follow a few simple criteria to identify groups who will truly benefit.

The Friends in Mission grant is available to Christian groups and organisations whose annual income is less than £50,000. Groups applying for the bursary must be reliant on grants or voluntary funding and be engaged in outreach work in an area suffering from deprivation or poverty as defined by the Church Urban Fund, or they must be operating in a ‘challenging’ area of work.

When applying, you will need to demonstrate a clear purpose for the event you are planning to stage. We will need to see how the event will benefit the delegates attending and the difference it will make in the long term to your group or organisation.

To find out more about how the CCT Friends in Mission grant scheme can benefit you, or for an application form, please download the files below. Please be aware that applications must be received at least two weeks prior to your planned event.
