Some of the most important investments at our venues are the ones guests barely notice.
As a not-for-profit Christian charity with no shareholders, we reinvests any surplus back into our centres. The aim is to make sure the facilities are safe, welcoming, and ready for Christian groups to gather, worship, and grow together.
Over the last year, we invested more than £700,000 into our properties and staff training, focusing on comfort, safety, and the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps large residential venues running smoothly. Some upgrades are easy to spot, but many sit quietly in the background: reliable heating, stronger fire safety systems, and kitchen improvements that help teams serve hundreds of meals every day.

A few highlights from across the venues include:
New boilers in the Lakeside guest accommodation, a new fire detection system in the main house, refurbished ladies’ toilets, a rebuilt car-park wall, plus a new commercial oven and dishwasher and a tractor.

Improved heating and cooling in the main reception, a new roof in reception, additional air-conditioning units in meeting rooms, plus a new commercial oven and dishwasher.

A new Court Garden outdoor leisure area (repurposing the old tennis court), a new roof on an accommodation wing, new carpet in Ismay and Annerley meeting rooms, new automatic doors in main guest areas, plus a new commercial oven and dishwasher.

Alongside investing in buildings, we also invests in our people, because great hospitality starts with a strong team. Our staff can access on-the-job training through the Institute of Leadership & Management. Several accredited apprenticeships are offered in areas such as catering and housekeeping, and each year the “Team Spirit” programme helps around a dozen staff from across the centres grow as emerging leaders, developing transferable skills that benefit everyone.

All of these investments help ensure the our centres continue serving the church for years to come, offering spaces where ministry can flourish without distraction.
