Where Churches Feel at Home

March 2026

When churches plan a weekend away, leadership retreat, or annual conference, the venue matters for far more than bedrooms and meeting rooms. The right setting helps people settle quickly, worship freely, and focus on what God wants to do among them. That is why we believe a Christian conference venue in the UK should offer more than practicality. It should feel welcoming, peaceful, and ready to serve the life of the Church.

At Christian Conference Trust, we exist to help churches, Christian charities, and Christian organisations gather in places where they can pray, learn, worship, and grow together. Across our three venues in Derbyshire, Hertfordshire, and Northamptonshire, we welcome the rich breadth of denominations and provide a safe place to meet, seek God, and enjoy fellowship together. Our prayer is that every guest leaves more on fire for Jesus.

More than a venue

We know that when a church comes away together, something changes. Away from the noise and pressure of everyday life, people often find more space to listen to God and enjoy deeper fellowship. On a conference, worship is less rushed, conversations are less distracted, and there is more room for ministry. That is one reason we believe these times away matter so much in the life of the Church.

We are here to make those moments possible. Our venues are exclusively for Christian groups, and everything we do is shaped around serving churches and ministries well. We are not simply providing rooms and catering. We are creating the kind of setting where your church family can be built up in faith.

A Christian conference venue that understands church life

We know many groups need more than just beds and a main hall. They need a venue that can hold the full life of their church well. That may mean vibrant worship in the main sessions, smaller spaces for prayer and teaching, comfortable bedrooms for families and leaders, and enough room for fellowship over meals and tea & coffee.

That is exactly what we are set up to provide. At The Hayes in Derbyshire, we can host residential conferences for up to 400 delegates. High Leigh in Hertfordshire can accommodate up to 320 guests. Highgate House in Northamptonshire is ideal for groups of up to 190, with its largest hall seating 200. Across our centres, groups benefit from flexible meeting spaces, en-suite accommodation, AV equipment, Wi-Fi and fully catered stays designed to make ministry easier.

Hospitality that serves the Church

For us, hospitality is not an added extra. It is part of our ministry. We know that when the practical details are taken care of well, leaders can lead, teams can serve, and delegates can give themselves more fully to worship, fellowship, and rest.

That is why our all-inclusive approach matters. When groups book with us, accommodation, meals, tea & coffee, meeting rooms, AV equipment, and Wi-Fi are all covered in one simple price. There are no hidden charges, and there are no supplements for single occupancy. As a charity, we work hard to keep Christian conferencing accessible and to reinvest what we receive back into serving God’s Kingdom through our venues.

Food, fellowship, and feeling at home

We also know that food matters. Meals are not just a practical part of a conference. They are often where conversations deepen and friendships form.

Over the past few years, we have worked intentionally to make our menus more reflective of the diverse groups we welcome. That includes incorporating African and Caribbean flavours and adapting dishes, flavours, and accompaniments where we can in response to the ethnic and cultural backgrounds of the groups staying with us. For exclusive-use bookings, our chefs will often speak directly with organisers in advance to understand preferences and requirements. That flexibility helps guests feel valued and at home from the moment they arrive.

Why this matters for growing churches

Many churches today are wonderfully diverse, multi-generational, and full of life. Some are looking for a Christian conference centre for a large annual gathering. Others need a church retreat venue for a leadership team, youth group, or church family weekend. Some want exclusive use so the whole venue can reflect their programme, culture, and rhythm of worship.

We understand that no two churches are the same. But we also know that every church wants a place where people can arrive and feel at ease, where worship can flow, where fellowship can flourish, and where the environment supports what God is doing among them. That is what we seek to provide across all three of our venues.

Three venues, one shared heart

Each of our centres has its own character, but all three share the same heart for Christian hospitality.

The Hayes is our largest venue and is well suited to bigger residential conferences, church weekends away, and national gatherings, with accommodation for up to 400 guests. High Leigh offers a large conference setting in Hertfordshire, just outside London, with accommodation for 320. Highgate House provides a more intimate setting in Northamptonshire, with space for up to 190 guests and 16 meeting spaces. Across all three, we aim to provide quality, flexibility, and a Christian environment where groups can gather with confidence.

For larger groups, we also offer exclusive use at all three venues, based on minimum guest numbers. Exclusive use gives churches and Christian organisations the freedom, privacy, and flexibility to shape the whole environment around their event.
