Meet Highgate's meeting rooms

June 2026

If you’ve stayed at Highgate House before, you’ll know that every part of the venue has its own character. Some rooms are bright and practical, some feel quiet and tucked away, and others are made for bigger gatherings.

Highgate House has 16 meeting spaces in total, with rooms suitable for everything from larger conferences to smaller group sessions. Whether you’re planning a residential church weekend, a charity conference, a leaders’ retreat, or a day meeting, there’s a good mix of spaces to choose from. Here’s a closer look at some of the meeting rooms at Highgate House.

Aspen Hall

Aspen Hall is the largest meeting room at Highgate House. It can seat up to 200 people theatre-style or 100 people cabaret-style, making it the best option for main sessions, larger meetings, and events where everyone needs to gather in one room.

It’s a flexible space with a good range of equipment already in place, including a large projector screen, microphones, a sound system, a baby grand piano, HDMI connection, Bluetooth, and hearing loop availability.

One of the most useful things about Aspen Hall is that it also has six smaller breakout rooms nearby. These can be used for smaller discussion groups, kids ministry, planning meetings, or quieter conversations during a larger event.

For groups using Highgate House for a Christian conference or church weekend, Aspen Hall often works well as the main meeting space because it has the capacity, layout options, and facilities needed for a full programme.

Annerley Hall

Annerley Hall is a medium-sized meeting room that can seat up to 70 people theatre-style, 50 cabaret-style, or 18 in a boardroom layout.

It’s a good choice for groups that need a room with plenty of space but don’t need the full size of Aspen Hall. It works well for teaching sessions, training days, charity meetings, and smaller conference groups.

Annerley Hall also has two adjacent breakout rooms. Each one can seat 8 people boardroom-style or 10 people in theatre or circle layout, which makes it easier to split into smaller groups without moving far from the main room.

The room includes a projector, large screen, audio speaker setup, and HDMI connection, so it is ready for presentations and teaching sessions.

Ismay

Ismay is another medium-sized hall at Highgate House. It can seat up to 50 people theatre-style, 32 cabaret-style, or 18 in a boardroom layout.

This room is a good fit for groups that want a focused meeting space without it feeling too large. It works well for workshops, seminars, leadership meetings, and smaller teaching sessions.

Ismay also has an adjacent breakout room, which can be helpful if part of the day involves smaller group work or separate conversations.

Rowan

Rowan is a peaceful meeting room with countryside views. It can seat up to 40 people theatre-style, 32 cabaret-style, or 18 in a boardroom layout.

It’s located next to the Baronial Hall and close to the Library meeting room, which makes it useful for groups who want a meeting space near quieter areas of the house.

Rowan works well for smaller conferences, team meetings, breakout sessions, and training. It has a calm feel, and the countryside views make it a pleasant room to spend time in during a busy programme.

It is a historic room with countryside views, and it works well for smaller meetings where a quieter setting is helpful. It is a good option for trustees, leadership teams, planning meetings, and small group discussions.

The room includes a 55-inch flatscreen TV and HDMI connection, so groups can still use slides or shared material while meeting in a more traditional setting. For smaller groups, the Library is a lovely room with a lot of character.

Alongside the meeting rooms, Highgate House also offers en-suite accommodation, catered meals, lounges, gardens, and space for guests to relax between sessions. This makes it a practical choice for residential Christian conferences, church weekends, retreats, and charity events.

Highgate House is set in the Northamptonshire countryside, around 8 miles north of Northampton. It gives groups a peaceful place to meet while still being accessible for guests travelling from different parts of the country.
