Breakfast - the secret to a successful conference

Breakfast - the secret to a successful conference

Giving you the energy you need to get through the day, a good breakfast can transform your productivity, helping you to concentrate and keep your mind on the job.

If you’re planning a conference or event, ensuring that all of your attendees have a good meal to start the day is essential. If you’re still not convinced of the brain boosting benefits of a balanced breakfast - here are just a few reasons why the morning meal is one that should never be missed.

Breakfast helps you concentrate

Overnight, your glucose levels will fall as your body digests your evening meal. Glucose is an essential nutrient for brain function and a good breakfast will help to restore these levels, boosting your cognitive function and helping you concentrate.

Breakfast has also been shown to improve your memory, lower your stress levels and improve your mood, all things that are beneficial for a productive day of sharing ideas, initiative and maintaining interest.

Breakfast gives you energy

We all know that our energy comes from food, so it makes sense that a good breakfast will give you the energy you need to help you stay alert for the working day ahead. If you skip breakfast, you’re likely to become tired before lunch as your body just won’t have the nutrients it needs to work hard.

To get the most out of your morning meal, eat a mixture of protein and carbohydrates as well as fresh fruit and liquids. Foods like nuts and seeds that release energy slowly are ideal as they’ll help you to feel full right up until lunch.

Try to avoid sugary cereals as these cause your energy levels to flag by mid-morning.

Breakfast helps you to lose weight

Though a lot of people skip breakfast in an effort to lose weight, in reality, choosing a healthy, balanced morning meal will help you to shed the pounds more quickly.

As well as helping to kick start your metabolism, a good breakfast will stop you grazing on snacks during the day. Research has shown that people who regularly eat breakfast are much less likely to be overweight than those who skip their morning meal.

Here at CCT, we think that no one should start the day without a good breakfast. That’s why we offer a range of fully catered packages at our venues with hot and cold options and delicious alternatives available for delegates with special dietary needs.

To find out more, get in touch with one of the CCT team today and start planning a well-catered conference of your own.
