What’s new at Highgate this Summer?

August 2026

There is always something happening at Highgate House. From improvements designed to make your stay more comfortable to thoughtful additions that celebrate the beauty of the surrounding countryside, here are five of the latest updates from our Northamptonshire venue.

1. New furniture in the Baronial Hall

The historic Baronial Hall has been given a refresh with brand-new furniture and décor.

The new additions bring extra comfort to this characterful space while complementing its historic surroundings. Whether guests are enjoying a quiet moment, catching up over a cup of coffee, or spending time together between sessions, the hall provides a warm and welcoming place to relax.

2. Kingfishers come to the Baronial Hall

Also new to the Baronial Hall is a beautiful gallery of kingfisher photographs taken by Pete, maintenance manager at Highgate House.

The photographs capture these colourful birds in remarkable detail and bring a little of the natural beauty surrounding Highgate House indoors. Make sure you take a closer look during your next visit!

3. Year-round bedroom comfort

Ten bedrooms in Upper Stable Courtyard now have brand-new air conditioning and heating systems.

These rooms will help guests stay comfortable throughout the year, with cooling during warmer summer days and additional warmth when it is needed in winter. It is another practical investment designed to improve residential stays at Highgate House.

4. A third beehive

There is even more of a buzz around Highgate House following the arrival of a third beehive.

Since the first hive was installed, the Highgate House bees have become an important part of our work to support biodiversity across the grounds. The additional hive will provide a home for thousands more bees, helping to pollinate nearby flowers and plants while supporting the local ecosystem.

5. A new screen for Annerley

Annerley Hall now features a brand-new 96-inch television screen, replacing the room’s projector.

The large screen will provide guests with a bright, clear display for presentations, teaching, worship, and videos. It is mounted on a mobile stand, allowing it to be moved to the side, something our guests specifically requested.

These latest additions are all part of our ongoing commitment to caring for Highgate House and helping guests get the most from their time with us.

From comfortable bedrooms and practical meeting technology to welcoming shared spaces and thriving beehives, every improvement helps Highgate House continue to serve Christian groups well.
